NEW Trains Trainers on Electoral Processes and Legal Framework

National Election Watch (NEW) conducted a one-day Training of Trainers on 16th June 2025 at its Secretariat in Murray Town, Freetown. The training aimed to deepen citizens’ understanding of electoral processes and promote greater youth participation in elections.

A total of 34 trainers (2 per district), representing all 17 administrative districts of NEW, participated in the session. These trainers will serve as facilitators to cascade the training in their respective districts.

The training covered the following key modules:

 Democracy & Democratic Values

 Elections and Types of Elections

 Principles and Forms of Youth Participation & Volunteerism

 Emerging Challenges and Opportunities in Citizen Observation

This intervention is led by WYDE Civic Engagement, implemented by the National Elections Watch with Democracy Reporting International powered by the European Union , and European Partnership for Democracy (EPD)
